Step by step process of Google Docs

CREATE A DOCUMENT IN GOOGLE DOCS

Once you are in "Google Docs" or "Drive", you have to follow these steps.
1. Click on the icon "CREATE" and select the type of document that you want to create in this case "Document".


2. Now, you can start working on your document, you can edit, put colors, change the size or style of the font, add imagenes, using all the elements of the toolbar.

3. Once you have ready your document, it is saved automatically as you can see in this imagen and also you can open it whenever you want.


4. If you prefer to save in a flash memory, you have the option of downloading. You just have to give a click on FILE, then you have to  scroll through options , select "DOWNLOAD AS" and select the type of document, in this case "Microsoft Word(.docx)".



SHARE DOCUMENTS WITH OTHERS
The following steps explain you how to share a  newly document created with other people.

1. Click on the icon "SHARE" which is on  the right side of the document.
2. A dialogue box is opened and you have to select the option CHANGE which is on the item Private access.

3. Here, you find three options which let you to select who can access to your document, that means if you want to make it public or private.  In this case I have chosen "Public on the web", so anyone on the internet can find and access. After that, give click on "Save".
4. Now, go to the bottom of the document and you will see the item "Add people", here you have to write the e-mails of the people you want to share your file. After that, next to it you will find the icon "Can edit", so you have to click on it and you will see more options, so select the first "can edit", and finally click on "Share & save".
5. The last step is to click on the icon " Done" and your document it is ready to share information with your collegues or students.


EDIT INFORMATION IN REAL-TIME
When you can to work together in the same document with your classmates you have to follow these steps:

1. Once you shared the document or received it, it will appear like these imagenes, so click on the document.

 

2. When the document is opened, all people you shared it can edit or add information.  Also, they can start a conversation through the chat which is located on the right side of the document . Here you will see a little boxes of different colors, so you just need to click on one of them and you can start chatting. You can make comments, too.

3. You can see exactly where the other person is editing by seeing the different colors that identify each user or person. In this imagen you can see the colors pink and blue.

ORGANIZE YOUR DOCUMENTS INTO FOLDERS

1. Click on the icon that says "New folder in My Drive" which is similar to a folder.
2.  A dialogue box is opened and you have to write a name for your new folder. In this case, I have written "essays". After that, you have to click on "Create".
 

3.Now you have your different documents organized by folders.
